CONSOLATION is a growing Pan-African movement which aims to utilize research, coalition building, and co-design practices to improve and increase safe spaces for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). Through using innovative financing, movement building, and storytelling methodologies, we intend to support every African survivor their right to heal in place. Specifically, CONSOLATION intends to:
Become whole - Ensure every survivor their right to heal, become whole, and thrive in place in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
Recover in their roots - Design, implement, and scale solutions that deconstruct colonial approaches to healing spaces in SSA.
Shining as they are – Spotlight survivors’ stories authentically. These stories will be survivor-directed and will serve as the key lights for the movement.
