WHOLE

The Eastwick community is an emblem of resilience. The stories of five Eastwick residents highlight the environmental injustice resulting from decades of racist land use and planning policies. Routine flooding, toxic soil contamination and air pollution result in life long health issues, unsafe living conditions, and property damage. This video is Phase 1 of a call to action to make these communities WHOLE. The project is one of the winners of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Environmental Justice Video Challenge as of July 2022. Specifically, it was ranked as top 10 submitted projects in the the United States. The project continued by analyzing, reforming, programming, and recommendations with the Eastwick community and co-developing a strategy with the development of "Making Eastwick Whole" which was runner up in Phase 2 of the national EPA competition. More importantly, this won Eastwick United $40,000 to continue in their advocacy work and resiliency.
